I have opened a e-shop at ShopHandmade.com, I will be selling patterns pdf's, amigurumi dolls, and any other crochet creation I come up with, all cute of course! I have to thank Charli for getting me motivated to start my own crafty business.

Every year when we are right in the middle of the year, I start thinking about one thing: what am I going to do for Halloween... I know, but i love this holiday so much, and now even more that my hubby has introduced me to Dia de los Muertos the Mexican version of celebrating the dead by feasting and decorating with skulls and colors, a very exoteric outlook on death in general; focused on loyal veneration of the departed, so different from what in Costa Rica has becomed a unfavorally warped view on this Holiday. For me it was trick-or-treating in malls back in LA when I was little, no "evil" connotation ever passed my mind, I loved the decorations, the colors, I felt a true connection with the holiday. So this year Ive pressed myself to make as many halloweem/DDM projects, crochet, paint, etc. Here are 3 chart patterns I (Daniel made the bat) have made, a pumpkin, a bat and a skull, you can do tapestry, filet crochet, knit etc with them. As soon as I complete them I will post. Enjoy for now....wohohohoooo

Brobee Amigurumi

DONE! I have made my first free-hand amigurumi, my own pattern invention! I am so proud I have finally got to a point where I can design a pattern and have it turn out good. This is a Yo Gabba Gabba inspiration Brobee doll, my new friend/swapper pal Charli turned me on to this kids show, and I just had to make Brobee for my sister, she went banana's when she saw it. She totally recognized it (shes only 19 months), she pretends to cry like the carrots in the "Party in my Tummy" Song, which is just hilarious. She will come up to me and pretend she's sobing so I will put on the video on the laptop, LOL. Here are the pics, and I will be soon selling the pattern on etsy.

Muno Amigurumi

Upon request my friend Charli wanted me to crochet her son the "Yo Gabba Gabba" Muno Amigurumi, he was pretty easy to make but took alot of stuffing. He is the biggest amigurumi I have made by far, used felt and embroidery floss for the details. This doll and a Domo-kun doll are getting shipped A.S.A.P. So enjoy guys!

Father's Day Gift

Tonight I finally got to it and finished my father's day gift for my golf loving dad, he is obsessed, hehe, to the point my new baby sister has her own toddler golf set and is a tiger in the making...hehe. Never the less, I googled some and found a cool (non-free) pattern for a can cozy, which looked simple enough to inspire on. So here are the finished pics, its holding a can of Bavaria Gold Premium (cr brew).

Hehe, well in CR chicks go pio-pio-pio, but this chick is either freezing in Cartago (hence blue) or if you ever had the chance to come to CR and check out a local markets "mercado" back in the early 90's, you may have heard chicks been sold out of cardboard boxes, though these where not your everyday chicks, this ones where tie-dyed, dipped in coloring so to be purple, hot pink, green, bright gold, etc... Mom didn't buy one, she said they would die from poisoning, but they still looked cool to me at 8 years old, hehe, luckily pollitos teñidos are illegal now, so the best next is an amigurumi version.

Croché o Tejé Dilema Existencial

Nunca he tejido, nunca lo pude entender, mi mamá me enseño a crochet desde que tenia 11 años, y de por si es hasta ahora que en CR hay semejanzas de lanas decentes, asi que como todas aprendi con la chinita (lol), ya que mi unica habilidad es crochet perfeccione mi tecnica y hago Amigurumi (muñecos japoneses) que igual calan en mi sensibilidad por todo lo que sea japones, kawaii, adorable, antropomorfico, etc etc.

Pero siempre me quedo las ganas de tejer, de ver tantos moldes de bufandas, bolsos, y puntadas tan bonitas. Asi que la semana pasada estaba en Karla Vanessa y compre un par de agujas 6mm y 2 nathaly en blanco (si yo se que nombres mas polos de lanas, hehe) baje unos videos en youtube y empeze a practicar, aun no he hecho nada pero pronto lo lograre.

Pronto subire fotos si logro hacer una bufanda, o algo. Por el momento debo escoger croché.

Hi again, I just finished the infamous DOMO-KUN! Yeah, my sister was nagging for this guy for months now, due to the chunky brown yarn I had stashed away and had no idea what to do with. I finally crocheted him and added big black beads for eyes and felt mouth, I think he looks great and my sis ipod nano is now safe from harm, or at least it think it is...hahaha

If you haven't all ready heard about Amigurumi or gone through flickr or craftster in search of crochet projects... you have had to come across the cutest craft out there. I found out about amigurumi about a year and a half ago mainly due to my constant search of anything Japanese online. Amigurumi means essentially Knitted Doll, all though I must say that the term has been used lightly oversees, Ive seen crafts labeled amigurumi that simply dont look the same style as amigurumi should, over sized heads, cute anime-like faces, anthropomorphism, are the basic characteristics. Any way I've found some good links to some good pics and patterns, free ones also. For now:

The ami style one can be made larger by augmenting the length of the initial chain.

Both patterns can be found free online, and can be easily modified to make bigger sized pumpkins.
